Blake Mooney, LMHC

Blake Mooney, M.Phil.Ed, M.S.Ed, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who cares deeply about the individuals and families that she works with. She is committed to providing compassionate, collaborative, and effective care that is backed by research and tailored to your unique goals and values. She approaches her work by understanding your present situation, creating a comfortable and warm environment that can become a bridge for discomfort, learning, change, and achieving your goals. She values a team approach and collaboration with other providers, such as teachers and psychiatrists, to support children across all environments. Blake specializes in the treatment of anxiety, mood, and behavioral disorders including, but not limited to generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety disorder, and selective mutism (SM).

Blake is certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM); trained by Dr. Steven Kurtz. She has intensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy; trained by Dr. Alec Miller in Adolescent DBT, and Supportive Parenting of Anxious Children (SPACE) by Dr. Eli Lebowitz.

Blake earned her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University with a major in Human Development and Psychological Services, where she also played for the lacrosse team and won the National Championship in 2012. She holds a dual Master’s degree in Counseling & Mental Health Services (M.S.Ed) and Professional Counseling (M.Phil.Ed) from The University of Pennsylvania. Prior to becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Blake was a Corps Member of Teach for America as a 5th grade teacher and earned her elementary teaching certification from The University of Pennsylvania.

Blake Mooney is also a wife , and a mother of two kids under two. She enjoys spending time with her family at the playground or beach, going to pilates class, listening to country music, watching sporting events,, and baking chocolate chip cookies.
